The CO-mach-KO German initiative warned against the use of indoor grills to avoid the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The initiative recommends using charcoal grills or even gas in open spaces. Even after use, the grill should not be placed indoors.
The initiative noted that carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas, and is not perceived by humans; it is therefore called the "silent killer".
This gas is not only released from grills or camping gas stoves, but may also result from heater, gas heaters, open fireplaces and a gas stove. The inhalation of carbon monoxide may cause a high concentration of death.
For further indoor protection, a carbon monoxide detector and a smoke detector can be used, taking into consideration the height of the head. The carbon monoxide detector can release its warnings at an early stage before poisoning.
