Hi friends and readers,
This morning I went to the Hospital to donate blood. I usually donate once a year and the feeling is great. Sadly not many will go to donate unless it is required or someone from the family or friends needs the blood prior a surgery.
I really like to donate my blood for 2 things, first for helping people that might need it because of surgeries or accidents. Second, I like to keep my self healthy and be able to donate encourage me to keep working to improve my health to be able to donate. It is not a huge thing to do but I know that it saves lives.
I encourage you to do the same people that really need the blood can use it to recover and you will be helping them without knowing. It just like 1 hour of your time but you are also giving someone else a whole life and a second chance. Try to do it as frequent as possible. It is also good for your health as blood is constantly generated and easy to recover.
Tips before donating
- Light breakfast or meal.
- Avoid fat, eggs, milk, cheese or anything that had milk.
- Drink water and liquids the day before and try to keep other not healthy foods away.
- Do not drink alcohol.
- Try to exercise a little bit, maybe walk few minutes a day.
Tips after donating
- Light meal after donation, keep drinking water and liquids to recover blood faster.
- Drink tea.
- Eat fruits.
- Do not exercise that day.
- Do not drink alcohol for a 1 and do not smoke for couple hours after donation.
- Encourage friends to donate.
