TRIVIA
The gallbladder is a little sac that stores bile from the liver, and it's found just beneath your liver.
The gallbladder releases bile, via the cystic duct, into the small intestine to help break down the foods you eat — fatty foods in particular.[source]
My Experience
Most often the gallbladder doesn't cause too many problems or many concern with our body, but if something slows or blocks the flow of bile from the gallbladder, numerous problems may occur.
5yrs ago before i was diagnosed with "gallstone" thru CT scan , i did not eat too much meat nor fatty foods.I even don't drink too excessive amount of soda and i even drinking liquor is not my hobby. I wonder why of all people ,why me? How come that a person like me which almost didn't eat plenty of unhealthy foods suffer from cholelithiasis .
Based on research here are the common symptoms of gallbladder conditions:
- Severe abdominal pain
- Pain that may extend beneath the right shoulder blade or to the back
- Pain that worsens after eating a heavy meal, particularly fatty or greasy foods
- Pain that feels dull, sharp, or crampy
- Pain that increases when you breathe in deeply
- Heartburn, indigestion, and excessive gas
- Chest pain
- A feeling of fullness in the abdomen
- Vomiting, nausea, fever
- Shaking with chills
- Tenderness in the abdomen, particularly the right upper quadrant
- Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
- Stools of an unusual color (often lighter, like clay) and dark urine, or both
The latest way surgical technique in getting rid off gallstone is the Laparoscopic surgery ,
also known as MIS - minimally invasive surgery or keyhole surgery . This operations are performed far from their location through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5 cm) elsewhere in the body.
For my gallstone, i choose an open gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy), wherein the surgeon removes the gallbladder through a single, large cut (incision) in the abdomen. General anesthesia is needed in this operation which lasts 1 to 2 hours.Healing period is almost 1 month for my operation.
This is just for now:) Hope you guys learned something from my experience.
