I have learn a lot from reading books, blogs, articles, and online lectures about health. In particular, healthy foods.
When it comes to figuring out what foods to eat to become healthier, it may seem confusing.
Are eggs healthy or not...? Salmon? Chicken? Nuts? Oils? What is healthy and what is not?
Well I recently came across a doctor who has clarified this up for me and today I will share some of his concepts and a video of his.
His name is Dr. Joel Fuhrman and he is a Family Physician, Nutrition Researcher, and New York Times Best Seller.
To summarize some of his concepts, he believes that 90% of the foods that you should eat should be food that are of the highest Nutrient Density, and foods that have immune boosting properties.
One of his best selling books is called Super Immunity and is a New York Times Best Seller. This book is a detailed blueprint on how to eat healthy foods that will help you bould recommend this book to anyone looking to get off the american diet and eat higher quality of foods.
Also to avoid foods that have a High glycemic index and Load like white rice, white potatoes, and white flour because they basically have no nutrient dense calories, raise your blood glucose (sugar) levels, suppress the immune system, and increase the risk of cancers.
In his book he talks about everything from Carbs and fats, to meat protein vs plant protein, to soy. I mean there is so much info in this book that could actually save peoples lives.
Oh Btw, ALL OF HIS CLAIMS ARE BACKED UP BY SCIENCE.
There is really no debate against what he says in his book other that personal preferences.
I could sit here and write a whole entire post about his book and his concepts, but you should just watch this Youtube lecture (if you have the time) where he talks about all of the science behind the food he recommends we eat.
Watch it here
