Hey humans,
Please warm up before you lift! Here's a relatively quick and easy, appropriately thorough warmup. You can do this before ANY kind of workout, run or even sporting event, and I would definitely recommend you perform this before any of my workouts.
Try it out!
- Walk on Treadmill - 1min
- Jog on Treadmill - 2min
- Squats (make sure your weight is in your heels and you're dropping your butt BACK rather than straight down) - x30
- Legs together, stretch straight down - 15sec
- Legs wide, stretch straigth down, then to the left, then right - 15sec each position
- Standing Knee Hugs (grab & pull your knee slightly firmly towards your chest for 1sec, then return to ground and alternate) - -x10ea (each)
- Trunk Twists (sit butt back and bend knees slightly, keep chest up and head straight forwards, bring arms up so hands are in front of face, elbows bent, rotate upper body back and forth) - x10ea
- Arm Circles Forwards - x10
- Arm Circles Backwards - x10
- Swing arms back and forth across the chest - x20
- Overhead Tricep Stretch - 15sec (each)
- Pull arm across chest for Post Delt Stretch - 15sec (each)
- Chest Stretch on Wall or Pole - 15sec (each)
