Not much to go over this week im afraid. Only managed to make it out for 2 runs last week and neither of them were anything special.
With just 16 weeks till the 1/2 marathon (13.1miles), I had some great news in work this morning, told me that he might be well enough to take part this year.
Huw is a survivor of not 1, not 2 but 3 different cancers, all found with in a few weeks of each other. He's either got to be the luckiest or unluckiest son of a bitch on the planet.
So it got me thinking, with the help of friends and family, maybe I could help raise some much needed funds to help support, treat and prevent cancer patients in the future from going through what Huw had to. I'll hold off for now and see what he wants to do, but your support may be called upon in the future.
So 2 short runs of 3 miles each. Both well under my expected split of 9:15 per mile. I'll be getting a few more short (3mile) runs in this week before beginning to stretch them out and over 5mile+ in the coming weeks.
Although the weight is still NOT coming off, my over all fitness is definitely increasing as can be seen by my splits and the fact in finishing a lot stronger and recovering far quicker after each run.
Let's hope this rain hold off so I can get out today, because as I discovered last week, I'm definitely only a dry weather runner.
