I am now using the privilege of an unlimited health insurance coverage for my dialysis sessions because of this statement issued by "Philhealth" due to the reason of the extended declaration of the state of calamity for my whole country. The state of calamity declaration aims also for the local governments to use their calamity funds during this CoViD Pandemic period where they can only touch those funds if there was a state of calamity which in this case extended until December 19th of this year.
In effect of the state of calamity the Philhealth organization also granted the dialysis patients to get an unlimited health insurance coverage for their sessions after the 90-session allocation per year is consumed. This means that I can go fir my dialysis even daily if there was a slot available for me and that I am willing to pay for the extra bills that would incur per dialysis center visit.
It is a life-saving help for every dialysis patient in my country to receive this special privilege because normally after the 90 per year session gets consumed it is really hard to pay out-of-pocket the essential dialysis sessions because of the forbidding cost of such medical treatment.
That is why some patients would skip sessions, some will just give-up because they cannot afford to pay while other patients gets worse with their condition and their bodies will just give-up and they die.
As for myself I am using the privilege benefits because I only have a limited fluid to load up in my body before my breathing gets affected as well as to improve my level of well-being simply because taking off extra fluids in my system and cleaning it -up makes me feel much better.
Anyway my hope that the state of calamity declaration could get extended more until next year or the number of dialysis allocations per year is leveled-up to 144 sessions so that in that way the dialysis patients can get a better quality of life and be much more productive with what they do and contribute more to society rather than being a drag because of not being ale to feel well due to lack of a better health support like a frequent dialysis sessions.
