Before washing your hair, take a comb and make sure you have no tangles in your hair.
Find yourself shampoo & conditioner that will give you the nutrients your hair need, for example, I have very dry hair so I usually get me products that is rich with oil to moisture my hair & give my hair the feeding it needs.
Switch your shampoo & conditioner once in a while, your hair can become too familiar with the products & then you'll realise that you see no improvement.
When you wash your hair, do not use hot water.
Put the shampoo on your scalp & very little on the bottom of your hair.
Work softly & polite with your hair to ensure that you don't damage your hair.
When using conditioner, you should not put it on your scalp. Only use it on the bottom, ends of your hair.
Leave your conditioner in for 10 min and rinse with low/cold water.
When you dry your hair, use a towel and gently pat it dry, do not go wild with the towel.
Try to make as little as possible use of a hairdryer.
Do not comb your hair when it's wet. It is then vulnerable to break more easily.
Try to use a mask for your hair once a week.
Give yourself a head massage once in a while.
Get yourself a oil that will protect your hair against heat.
