Hearthvale: A New Era of Blockchain Gaming Begins
Hello everyone! 👋
I’m super excited to finally share this with you…
After almost 3 months of solo development, Hearthvale — my passion project — is now entering its Early Access phase on the Hive blockchain. This is still early, still evolving, and still being built day by day… but the core is real, playable, and ready for people to try.
And yes… I’m building this game completely solo.
I’ve been working on Hearthvale in my spare time after my day job, grinding late nights and weekends to bring this vision to life. Every system, every feature, and every line of code is mine — and I’m proud of how far it has come in such a short time.
What is Hearthvale?
Hearthvale is a farming + adventure simulation game with blockchain integration. It’s designed for players who enjoy progression, resource grinding, crafting, and upgrading over time — while slowly expanding their land and preparing for bigger challenges ahead.
Whether you’re someone who loves relaxing games and chill farming…
or someone who likes a more “grindy” RPG-style progression loop…
Hearthvale is being built to blend both worlds together.
Inspiration & Development Story
Hearthvale was inspired by games like Sunflower Land and Diablo — plus my long-time love for farming games like FarmVille and Stardew Valley.
I wanted to build a game that starts cozy and simple… but slowly evolves into something deeper — with exploration, crafting, progression gates, and eventually dungeon combat.
For the last 3 months, I’ve been building Hearthvale as a solo developer while working my day job from home. I dedicate my evenings and weekends to it. It’s been demanding, but seeing it come together has been incredibly rewarding — and I’m excited to finally let players experience it.
Built With Next.js + Phaser.js
For those curious about how Hearthvale is built:
- The game is made using Next.js and Phaser.js
- The UI is built with React components
- The actual “game world” part (movement, functions, interactions) is handled by Phaser
So basically:
✅ React = UI
✅ Phaser = gameplay + movement + interactions
A Quick Honest Note 😄
The UI is not very good yet — I’m still improving it and trying to find a better design direction (or build a stronger UI system myself).
Also, sometimes the Phaser gameplay can feel laggy, but not always. I believe it may be related to movement direction + speed + framerate issues, and it’s something I’m actively working on solving.
This is exactly why Early Access is important — it helps me find these issues faster and improve them with feedback from real players.
Current Working Game Mechanics (Comprehensive)
The core gameplay loop is already playable and working. Here’s what you can currently do in Hearthvale:
🌍 Movement + World Interaction
Players can move freely around the map and interact with key locations.
You can explore your farm area, walk around, and access important buildings like the shop and blacksmith.
🛒 Shop System (Buy & Sell)
There’s an in-game Shop where you can:
✅ Buy seeds to start farming
✅ Sell crops to earn money and continue progressing
This creates the foundation of the economy and the farming progression loop.
🌱 Farming System (Plots + Crop Growth)
Farming is the heart of Hearthvale.
- You start with 6 available plots
- Once you reach certain levels, more plots will unlock
- This gives you a sense of progression as your farm grows over time
Planting and harvesting is designed to feel simple, satisfying, and rewarding — while still encouraging strategic planning.
🪵 Land Expansion + Progression Gates (Stumps Blocking Paths)
You’ll notice that some parts of the map are blocked by tree stumps.
These stumps act as progression points:
✅ Unlocking them expands your farm space
✅ Opening paths gives access to more map areas
✅ It visually shows your progress as you grow your land
This is one of the key systems that makes Hearthvale feel like you’re actually building and expanding your world.
⚒️ Blacksmith + Crafting Tools (Future Dungeon Prep)
There’s also a Blacksmith where you can craft tools and equipment.
Tools are essential for progression because:
- tools are needed to mine minerals
- tools are needed to cut trees
- later on, equipment will also matter for dungeon progression
⚠️ Important detail:
Each tool is consumed after use (one-time use per tool).
This makes resource gathering more meaningful and adds planning to progression.
⛏️ Resource Gathering (Mining & Chopping)
You’ll gather materials such as:
- wood
- minerals
- other farm/crafting resources
Everything connects back into crafting, expanding, and improving efficiency.
⚡ Energy System (Action Costs)
Most key actions cost energy:
- planting = 1 energy
- harvesting = 1 energy
- mining = 1 energy
This keeps farming and grinding balanced and prevents infinite farming loops.
♻️ Regeneration Timer (30-Minute Tick)
The game includes a regeneration system:
⏳ Every 30 minutes, you regenerate:
✅ 2.5% of your max HP or Energy
This encourages players to take breaks naturally or manage their energy well while grinding.
Dungeon Exploration & Combat (Coming Soon)
Beyond farming, Hearthvale is designed to eventually support full dungeon exploration.
Right now:
✅ the dungeon logic is already done
⚠️ but it still needs dungeon scene design, furnishing, enemies, and balancing
So dungeon gameplay is not fully implemented yet — but it’s one of the major pillars of Hearthvale’s future.

Early Access Launch (2 Weeks) 🎉
I’m launching Hearthvale in Early Access for 2 weeks, and I’d love for players to join, test, and help shape the game.
✅ How to Join Early Access
If you want to play, you can simply request Early Access in our Discord server.
No payment required just to test — I want people to play and give honest feedback while the game is still early.
Want to Support the Game Early? (Founder Title) 🏆
If you want to support the game early, you can do so by sending:
💰 5 HBD to: @hearthvale
✅ Every registration will be recorded manually
🏆 You’ll receive the permanent Founder Title
This Founder title is a badge that proves you were here at the very beginning — supporting Hearthvale before official launch.
After Early Access: Registration Will Be $10
Once Early Access ends, registration will be:
- $10 registration fee
So Early Access is the best time to join the community, test the game, and support early if you want the Founder title.
Bug Finder Rewards 🐛
Early Access is also the best time to help improve the game.
If you discover and report a legitimate bug, you’ll earn the Bug Finder title.
It’s a small reward, but it means a lot — because every report helps me move faster and make Hearthvale better.
Important Note About Progress
During this Early Access phase:
⚠️ Your in-game progress will not be saved yet until the official launch.
Think of this as a testing season where you can explore freely, experiment with mechanics, and help me fine-tune everything before accounts become permanent.
Next Development Goal (Blockchain Integration)
My next major step is implementing full Hive blockchain features such as:
- ✅ Hive blockchain registration
- ✅ deposits
- ✅ withdrawals
- ✅ credit purchasing
This is a big milestone because it unlocks the full economy and reward side of Hearthvale.
Credits + VIP Tier System
Credits will play a big role in progression.
When you purchase credits:
✅ your VIP tier increases
✅ VIP tiers will give better bonuses such as:
- increased capacity
- farm boosts
- stronger progression perks
This is meant to reward supporters and give meaningful advantages without killing the grind-based progression that makes farming games fun.
