Hearthvale Dev Log #2 — UI Refresh, HBD Payments, Credits + Weekly Pass Testing
Hello everyone! 👋🌿
Welcome to Dev Log #2 for Hearthvale.
This update focuses on improving the UI, polishing onboarding, and pushing Hearthvale closer to a real blockchain-powered progression system. A lot of important features are now working behind the scenes, and I’m excited to share what’s new.
✅ UI Update (Cleaner Layout)
I made a UI update to improve the overall look and feel of the game.
Here are the changes:
- Cleaned up the interface for better readability
- Moved the hotbar to the right side
- Moved the inventory button to the left side
- Repositioned other buttons to make navigation feel smoother
This UI is still improving over time, but this update makes the game feel more organized and playable.
🕹️ Joystick Test (Paused For Now)
I tried adding a joystick system to the game and I honestly like how it feels.
However, I kept encountering errors while integrating it properly, so for now I’m setting it aside temporarily while I continue working on stability and other features.
📝 Registration Page + Founder Support (5 HBD)
I created a proper registration page where players can also support the game early.
✅ If you choose to support Hearthvale by paying 5 HBD, you will receive the Founder Title.
Important note:
- The Founder Title is not displayed inside the game yet
- But it is already saved in the database, and it will show once the title display system is implemented
🌐 Blockchain Payments Now Integrated (HBD)
This is one of the biggest milestones so far:
✅ Hearthvale now supports blockchain payments using HBD for:
- Registration
- Buying credits
This brings the game closer to having a working economy built on Hive.
💎 Credits System (1 HBD = 1000 Credits)
Credits can now be purchased through HBD payments.
Current ratio:
✅ 1 HBD = 1000 credits
✅ You also gain 1000 credit points
Credit points will be used to increase your VIP Tier, which will play a bigger role in progression bonuses later on.
🎟️ Weekly Pass Purchase (Credit-Based / Testing)
The Weekly Pass can now be purchased using credits.
For now, the testing price is set to:
⚠️ 0.01 HBD per 1000 credits (temporary testing value)
This is mainly for validating the purchase flow while I finalize the full Weekly Pass reward system.
🎮 Controls Reminder (Desktop + Mobile)
I forgot to mention this in my first blog post, so here’s a quick reminder:
Desktop Movement
✅ W A S D
Mobile Movement
✅ Drag the character
✅ You can touch anywhere on the map to move
🎁 Weekly Pass Claim (Still In Progress)
Weekly pass claiming is still not implemented yet.
I’m currently thinking through how the reward system should work, and I want it to feel rewarding while still fitting Hearthvale’s progression and item design.
One of the inspirations for this system is Dungeon Cities ().

🌍 Current Progression Status
Progression is now active in the game:
✅ At Level 3, you unlock 3 additional farming plots
✅ At Level 5, you can cross the tree stump and enter the next area
⚠️ But the 2nd map is not fully built yet, so the area beyond the stump is currently empty.
This is one of my next major development goals, and I’ll be building the 2nd map progression step-by-step.
⚒️ Next Step: Equipment System
Next, I’ll be working on implementing equipment in a simple way.
Planned:
- Simple equipment items
- A new Equipment Tab inside the Player Modal
- Equipping items through the UI
This will help set up the foundation for deeper progression and future combat systems.
