i think i was on full on day time riddick mode when i took this.
i've been wanting to experiment with taking photos both front and back camera in the moment and i'm looking to develop/build/hack together a little stick on kinda platform (that hopefully can be removable) that can take a certain amount of weight for the back of my laptop screen.
i'm getting a new camera soon and i'm not sure how much that camera weighs in actual physical reality until i get it but i'm hoping i can make something robust enough to have a slide on setup from the base to the case.
this camera setup will give me the ability to have a front or back shot and if i build it right allow me to crank it so i can make "in-time" vertical videos as well. I'm hoping this will bring back some kind of creativity again and re-light my spark for video again, kinda lost it back there for a little while.
i think mainly because i've been recalibrating my interests, where i spend my time, the WHY has gotten louder as the years have recently trickled by -- i noticed it a lot more in the pandemic, it was this loud reminder in the quiet of the surrounding i was in.
while it might have been the perfect time to fire up a zoom consultancy or some shit i don't like to jump on bandwagons and i have a certain level of distain for everyone just making zoom the freaking default for video conversations (buggy, vulnerable, etc)
so yeah massive recalibration went on, what do i wanna be doing, what interests me anymore, what does the next 5/10 years look like working, what work do i want to do, who do i want to serve and what does not serve me. I'm sure we all went through that in the pandemic but it's taken me a good solid year to look back and frame my thoughts.
i do miss writing, you have to be in a certain headspace to just want to let words flow and video get committed to the cloud effectively forever! recently i've been looking to make scene packs for a new piece of software i'm using.
The only reason i jumped ship from other ones for now is because open source is often a little unreliable where as a day by day worked on product, one with a roadmap, active discord and financial plan in place to sustain itself -- well that's where i wanna be at
.. .PLUS they have a really good scene/template importer which means i can distribute my designs easily just by sending one file and they double click on it to load into the app, easy for the noob and just a lot less messaging required to the client to get up and running fast.
I'll be talking about this morning as i start putting the finishing touches on the pack and start doing social media about them.
right that's me for now, time to finish of my sandwich and coffee and crack on into the day.
Cheers!
