Personally I'm not much into herbal thing (most of them if for intake has a really bad taste and it makes me think that it will just worsen my illness) upon threatening my illness as I grow up and so was with medicine/tablets intake (i find those tablets hard to swallow and most of it have a bad taste and I'm afraid of the side effects it might cause to my body). I grow up practicing water therapy and take some rest if im not feeling well for me to avoid getting sick and avoid those medicine and herbal thing run into my senses. It made me really sick thinking those things. And I want my children to do the same like doing water therapy and a proper rest and healthy food intake for healthy body and to avoid illness. Don't want them to have antibiotics or any tablets for intake at their early age as much as possible. As long as water therapy and proper rest can cure I won't go further by taking any medication.
here's the sambong plant in our front yard and the nilaa-ga nga tubig with gabon ready to drink
But lately this week I was worried by my infant. At the age of two months old he suffer cough already and it sadden me that much. I haven't experiencing it before with my first and second child (only with my third child now). And I believe the abnormalities of weather (climate change to be considere ), like the not so understandable and unpredictable weather change has a lot to do with my child case. Before with my first and second child in times when their not feeling well my treatment for them is breastfeeding and it helps a lot and really cure them for the mild illness like fever, flu and cough or even teething( animal bites and viruses treatment need to be checked up of course and need to be treated with right tablets). And for my third child case who's having cough I'm applying the breastfeeding treatment but now I'm scared if the cough won't cure rights away since we need to go to health center next week for his vaccine I was thinking doing some herbal for his cough treatment. For the health center staff won't give vaccine for a child if he/she had a fever or cough.
making herbal drink from this herbal plant you just need water and leaves of the plant then bring to heat until boil
We have in our front yard a sambong herbal plant or the Blumea Balsamefira. Its been there for quite long and many of our neighbours come in our house asking for it (and of course I'm giving them for free since it will help them and I'm so gld about it). For the long time I haven't gone using this herbal plant for my child like it was just there in our front yard for our neighbours use. And as I see it this sambong plant is quite effective for I have heard our neighbours story how it was and how to use, they even told me to give it a try.
the process to boiling to ready to drink
Im a bit convince of their story of effectiveness using this herb plus the fact that this might help my infant from suffering cough and also thinking about the vaccination next week then I give it a try. For my baby to get well and for him to be vaccinated next week. So yesterday I made laa-ga gabon for my baby's cough treatment (like having the sambong leaves soak in hot water and get to boil for a short period of time enough for the water till change its color) and I made my son to drink it using a dropper. Good thing my son is not yet familiar of taste at young age and its not really hard for me to let him drink it. Since this was my first time making a herbal drink I hope and I pray I did it right for it's my son's health is at stake. Though I'm not so sure about what I did still the worry is not that much for I have this strong feeling that since its a herb, it won't cause or bring side effects for my baby's health (compared to those of tablets or any antibiotics). And for now I hope and pray that this herbal drink will help my baby. Cure the cough and to bring my baby back to good health. Less worry, good sleep, healthy baby, happy mother and happy life.
and this is my infant who's going to drink this herbal drink as for water substitute and for the treatment
Thanks for the time and for dropping by. God bless and blessed Sunday everyone. Happy Easter steemians.
