On the Border of Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights is Mount Hermon.
This is the most probable place of the Mount of Transfiguration in the New Testament .
On planning our trip to Israel, this was one of the most important places we wanted to visit. So very early in the morning we left Tiberias and drove about two hours north. I would have been satisfied to have only walked in the foothills of this sacred mountain. Little did we know that the way became open for us to summit it!
