I am here once again to show you another scenic area, this time on the island O'ahu!
It's pretty easy getting around Hawaii, as long as you have a digital map!
Seriously, without it takes months to keep things semi-straight.
From Honolulu you head East along
Kalanianaole Hwy also known as Hwy 72, just past Haunama Bay to Lanai Lookout.
I am including a Google map for ease here:
Lanai Lookout-
Kalanianaole Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96825

You can park in this parking lot, or just further East up along the road side.
For ease of direction, I'll pretend we're at the parking lot.
You then cross the road and go right, a bit further and you come to the first guardrail. Carefully go over at the start of it, and follow the path down to the bottom of the ravine.
A little bit further and you will spot what looks like a cave opening, this is the lavachute, and it's somewhat long but if you follow the sunlight glow at the end and keep your head down, it is super easy to explore, but again watch out for wet rocks, as the ocean makes them especially slippery here.
Getting down from here can be somewhat tricky, but if you follow the edge along the right, it is pretty stable. Be sure to watch your step and avoid going down this slippery area if the rocks are wet from the rain.
Below you can explore along the shoreline to the east.
At the little cove area, turn around.
Walking north here toward the road..
You are now under the bridge overpass, if you intend to get out to the road here, venture up the right side, where a path is kinda worn in up the hill.
The path here back to the lot is right along side the road, and yes it could use a bit more shoulder for safety and security.
Luckily traffic is pretty tame, and usually at a pretty slow speed.
I hope you enjoyed this somewhat hidden Hawaii adventure! It always puts a smile on my face!
If you enjoyed it as well please like, share on social sites, and/or resteem it!
