About six years ago we went on a road trip to see the national parks in the western part of the United States. For some reason we skipped the two National Parks in Texas. We visited the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arches, and Canyonlands just to name a few. It wasn't until two years later that I realized that he had one of most under rated parks in our home state. I visited Big Bend for the first time in September 2013 on our honeymoon. I fell in love with it! If you ever get a chance visit Big Bend. There are some fabulous hikes, rafting, and the dark skies can be phenomenal. These pictures are from two weeks ago. I couldn't believe how green the desert was in August.
This is the basin and my favorite part of the park. The best hikes in my opinion start here.
The drive down into the basin is one of if not the nicest scenic drives in the state.
I took this on our way home. It's outside of the basin going towards Terlingua.
I saw this little guy on the Basin Loop trail.
We only had time for one hike. We picked the window trail since we hadn't hiked it since 2013.
