For this next Adventure We're headed to Angel Springs! This area is located in Kelowna BC , Canada and can be accessed via two trail heads. The Trail parallels a canyon Featuring many interesting rock formations on both sides. The forest en-route includes Douglas-fir, Lodgepole Pine, Western Larch and Western Red Cedars. The weather is sunny and warm, perfect timing for a trek into the woods!
The trail network is nestled in between two high rock faces, which display a variety of colors. rock, moss, ice and snow. The ice formations are here are absolutely incredible!!!
There are these pools in the creek all along the way. They create such a unique atmosphere. This area is stunning!!! Can't wait to see what's around every corner, so much to explore in many different nooks and crannies. I feel like a kid the candy store...
Wow!!! So many layers with different mineral colors. combined with the ice melt this has such a neat effect iv'e never quite seen before. Everywhere I look is something interesting, no shortage of unique features here that's for sure...
The contrasted light really creates a magical feel to this place. I feel as though i'm in some sort of woodsie faerie tale. I feel so connected to nature being in among the trees. It's very quiet here, nobody to be seen around. The stillness of the winter brings such a sense of calm.
"Humans who spend time in the wilderness, alone, without man-made mechanical noise around them, often discover that their brain begins to recover its ability to discern things." -Robert Anderson
The trail has been on a steady incline, so the snow levels have been slowly increasing. by this point it's becoming a bit more challenging, but well worth the effort!!!
Nature is truly a master artist, so much beauty in the array of colors shapes and materials. I'm in love with with place!
Walking on a frozen creek while watching the water rushing underneath your feet is quite the experience! There's big air bubbles that sometimes pass by slowly...truly mesmerizing! I spent a bit of time here just checking out everything, not one of those experiences i'll easily forget.
"Nature always springs to the surface and manages to show what she is. It is vain to stop or try to drive her back. She breaks through every obstacle, pushes forward, and at last makes for herself a way." -Nicolas Boileau
Looks like there's some rock climbing areas around here, I could imagine this would be a fantastic place to climb! Upon venturing another 5 minutes down the trail the snow became extremely deep and there were signs of mudslides with huge amounts of snow that had slid down the mountain.
Even though I really wanted to make it all the way to Angel Springs, I decided to turn back. The trail completely disappeared by this point with no signs of which direction to go in. this has been a GREAT adventure all around and I already can't wait to come back in the spring when the snow melts!
Thank you #steemit community for checking out my post. This was a really fun time and i'm so happy to share in these experiences with you all! This is by far one of the most unique and entertaining adventures in nature iv'e had so far. Until next time, #steem on!!!
"Art does not imitate nature, but it founds itself on the study of nature - takes from nature the selections which best accord with its own intention, and then bestows on them that which nature does not possess, viz. the mind and the soul of man." -Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
