Hi,
This blog is all about India's greatest warrior and legend-Maharana Pratap Singh.
All the pic were taken on my trip to Udaipur, Rajasthan. Here in Udaipur, Maharana Pratap memorial is a historic site that is dedicated to the glory of Rajput King, Maharana Pratap Singh. The memorial is situated at the top of the Pearl Hill. The place is covered around the hills and rocks. It comprises bronze statues of the Maharana and his horse which is really magnificent.
He was the son of Udai Singh and Jaiwanta Bai and became 12th king of Mewar,Rajasthan. He was against Mughal invasion in India and fought many battles to keep Rajasthan safe from the Mugahls.
He used to ride a horse, which he named it Chetak. He loved his horse and had very strong bonding with it. Chetak too supported him till his last breath and shown very symbolic love between animal and humans.
It is said that Maharana Pratap used to carry a spear which weighed around 80kg. Along with it he used to carry armor and two swords in the battles. It totally weighed him around 207kg which is really a huge number.
His most known battle is Battle of Haldighati which he fought against Akbar. Above statue is all bronze made show a still of Maharana attacking Man Singh who is riding on elephant in the battle of Haldighati 1576.
