many lives would have been saved. Captain Smith canceled a drill that was to take place in the Titanic. This was supposed to take place on April 14, 1912.There is no known explanation why he did this, it is widely believed that had the drill taken place more lives would have been saved.

From the sounding of the lookouts to doing something that would have saved the Titanic, there were only 37 seconds. Nothing much could have been done.

There were no enough bots in the Titanic to save everyone, again most of the lifeboats that were launched out of the Titanic had not been filled to capacity. For example, lifeboat 7 only carried 24 people despite its capacity of 65 people.

6 The most saddening fact is that there were two boats not far from where the Titanic was sinking. When the Titanic sent distress signals the Californian which was closer did not respond. It was the Carpathian that responded though it was far. By the time Californian responded on the 15th, April 1912 at about 12.45 am most of the passengers had perished. If the Californian had moved first very many lives would have been saved.

7 During the rescue, the order followed was women and children were to be rescued first into the lifeboats. This fact together with the knowledge that there were no enough boats and that even this did not carry full capacity is very saddening. But the most disappointing thing is that two dogs found their way to the life boats
