I'm sick and tired of being told that because citizens aren't scientists that we're not qualified enough to just ask questions to experts. The answers citizens everywhere are given by their "authoritative body de jeur" is roughly the same: "You can't be trusted to be intelligent enough or wise enough in aggregate to question our work".
