The Independence of Brazil was a result of several military and political events mainly being disputes between Brazil and Portugal regarding the call for independence Brazil was aiming for. The independence is celebrated on September 7 (and dated to the year 1822) when Prince Dom Pedro declared Brazil's independence - however the formal recognition came in on this day in 1825.
