Mount Tidar is a mountain located in the middle of Magelang city, Central Java. This mountain can not be separated with military education because of the many activities of the Military Academy (Akmil) conducted there .
The legendary mountain known as "Pakunya Tanah Jawa" is located in the middle of Magelang City. Located at an altitude of 503 meters above sea level, Mount Tidar has a history in the nation's struggle. in the Tidar Valley that the Military Academy as a crater candradimuka who printed Sapta Marga fighters stood on November 11, 1957 .

It only takes less than 30 minutes to reach the top of Tidar. In general, Mount Tidar is still quite natural. Many pine plants and annual fruit crops such as salak from the era of the 1960s made Mount Tidar very lush.

It is said that Shaykh Subakir was the conqueror of Mount Tidar (though there is no convincing proof of this legendary story) by defeating the guardians of Mount Tidar. according to legend (saga) Mount Tidar, Sheikh Subakir came from Turkey who came to Mount Tidar with his friend named Shaykh Jangkung to spread the religion of Islam .
Not far from the Tomb of Sheikh Subakir, we will encounter a grave whose length reaches 7 meters. That is the Tomb of Kyai Sepanjang. kyai Sepanjang is not a pious cleric, but is the name of the spear that was brought and used by Shaykh Subakir defeated the jin guardian of Mount Tidar at that time.
The last grave site we encounter while climbing Mount Tidar is the Tomb of Kyai Semar. but according to some versions this is not the tomb of Semar kyai that exist in puppet. But Kyai Semar, the guardian of Mount Tidar at that time. Yet many believe this is indeed the tomb of Kyai Semar in the puppet. and what is true, is where we want to believe what.

At the top of Mount Tidar there is a fairly wide field. In the middle of the field is a monument with the symbol of the letter Sa (read as in Solok) in Javanese writing on three sides. according to the narrator's narrative, it means Sapa Salah Seleh (Who's Wrong Came His Fault). This monument is believed by some as the land of Java, which makes the land of Java remain calm and safe.
