We recently spent two full days in Vicksburg touring the Civil War Battlefield. so rich in history! Not only do you get a taste of how and where the battle was fought, but also how this war changed the Mississippi River, how the citizens of Vicksburg lived in caves during the war, and an indepth look at the first Ironclad " Cario".
We purchased the cd by Ed Bearss who gave an audio tour of the Battlefield and told bits and pieces of history at each point. They also had a phone app available for the audio tour.
We were able to stay right across the street from the Battlefield at the Hampton Inn; Battlefield Vicksburg. Reasonable, clean, comfortable great breakfast and Happy Hour.
One of the plus sides to our trip was watching a LANG being sworn in afront the LA monument. Very momentous!
