The Summer of 1978 Hits
Today we cover the year 1978 and its Summer Hits - some of them I listen to still. 1978 was the year when Egypt and Israel signed the Camp David Accords in an effort to secure peace between the two nations. In Germany 1978 was the year the Volkswagen Beetle stops production having manufactured 20 million cars after 30 years and in the US the production of the Neutron Bomb was stopped.
Andy Gibb - brother of the Bee Gees landed the Top Summer Song that year
Check out the No. 1 - Andy Gibb with Shadow Dancing. The young Gibb was a teen idol that sadly died too early at the age of 30.
Two of the other songs I always listen to nowadays are from Gerry Rafferty and Foreigner.
Now to the Top 10 List
- "Shadow Dancing" – Andy Gibb
- "Three Times A Lady" – Commodores
- "Grease" – Frankie Valli
- "Miss You” – The Rolling Stones
- "Baker Street" – Gerry Rafferty
- "Boogie Oogie Oogie” – A Taste Of Honey
- "Last Dance" – Donna Summer
- "Hot Blooded" – Foreigner
- "Use Ta Be My Girl" – The O’Jays
- "Still The Same" – Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
