Oba Eweka had lost Oloi Ariowa, a native of Evbodoben in 1926, she was the mother of the crowned prince, Godfrey Edokparogbuyurun Bassimi Eweka who latter became Oba Akenzua.

Records have it that Oba Ewka's favourable disposition of the Christian faith towards the twilight of his reign was one of the factors that made Benin kingdom a conducive land for the propagation of the gospel of Christ.
The Oba passed away on the 8th of February 1933. Eight days later, his mother, Queen Eghaghe also passed on.
