1876 Graham Bell patents the telephone
Alexander Graham Bell was born March 3, 1847, Edinburgh, Scotland and died August 2, 1922, Beinn Bhreagh, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.
In August of 1867, he was on the receiving end of the first one-way long-distance call, transmitted from Brantford to nearby Paris, Ontario, over a telegraph wire.

This video demonstrates how to construct a working model of Alexander Graham Bell's first telephone. This phone was constructed in 1876 and supported Bell's successful patent application for the first telephone.
