Cathay Williams as indicated by old history, was the first known female African American Soldier. She was the first dark lady to ever enroll in the United States Army and archived for her service in the U.S. Armed force before ladies were authoritatively permitted to join the armed force. She really joined the armed force in the nineteenth century making her the first woman to even join the US Army.

In 1876, her story was published at all dailies across the country and her story turned into an exceptionally mainstream one. She worked as a cook in the wake of leaving the armed force and did numerous others employments also. So time in 1890, she fell sick again and apply for her pension in view of her military career, however she was denied that, not long after she passed on but no actual date was recorded down as the date she died. However, till date history has it that she is the first even dark American lady to enlist in the US Army.
