After ten years, since I got a job, I haven't eaten snails even when I come home. It's my first time eating snails again today because my husband wanted to taste the snails here with us, ahaha, because they only eat escargot in their place.
When I was a kid, this snail was our life saviour. before, when we didn't have anything to cook, this was the only thing we could get quickly in the field, and we couldn't buy it because you could pick it yourself.
Would you like to know how to cook this? Just Continue reading. π βπ»
Before, when people here were just discovering it, they really loved the snail; they admired it because it was cute, and others wanted to take care of it and make pets haha, but when snails became numerous they don't want na because the snail are eating the rice plant and when insecticide or pesticide or other types of medicine became popular, little by little, no one was interested in eating the snails. Because they were afraid that they might also eat the insecticide in the rice field that the snails also eat.
So here's the snail that my husband picked yesterday, and he decided to cook it today as our dish for lunch. First, he boiled it, but then he added lemongrass to get the lansa even though he also threw away the broth.
After boiling, to quickly get the snail shells, you need to boil them for a few minutes. After that, I also helped him pick out the snails one by one and their eggs or asses because only the heads are eaten.
After getting ass, eggs, and body. It looks like a little, but it's too much for the three of us haha.
Sorry for the look of the pan but it's clean
after getting them one by one my husband started cooking them. he sauted them with garlic, onion, and ginger and then sprinkled with coconut milk, he boiled them for six to nine minutes. actually snails are easy to cook but this is what he likes and he is the one who cooks so I didn't bother him anymore haha.
He put also again a lemongrass. π€©
Instead of water, he added coconut milk. He placed the second coconut milk first, then the first coconut milk. When the soup had thickened slightly, he added the first coconut milk again, and our land snails were done after a few minutes.
Ready to serve!
We eat our lunch, enjoying the delicious coconut milk and reminiscing about how we used to collect snails and how naughty we were. It's just fun to reminisce about our time with our mother.
That's all for today, I just want to say Thankyou for your unwavering support of my post. See you on my next blog again, Peace and love. π«Άπ»
