He smiled immediately and said, “Ahh, today good o! This one you want ₦1,000 own. Before na ₦500 suya you dey buy. I don sabi you well well.”
I just laughed. “Na so nah. Today good. Abeg give me correct ₦1,000 own… and cut plenty onions put inside.”
He said, “No wahala. Today wey you buy plenty, I go package am well for you.”
As he was slicing the onions, I still reminded him again, “Please o, I love onions, you have to add more.”
He said, “Okay.”
After that, he wanted to sprinkle small pepper on the suya.
I said, “No o, this one no go reach, please add more pepper.”
He looked at me and said, “Haaa! You know say no be ordinary pepper. Na yaji.”
I said, “Yes na, I know. That’s why I’m telling you to add more.”
He started explaining how strong yaji spice is and how people even use it to cook food.
I said, “Exactly! Na wetin I dey talk. Add more for me.”
He added small again and wanted to close it.
I still stopped him.

He now looked at me somehow and said,
“Customer, you want make I finish my yaji for this your ₦1,000 suya? Pepper don too much o.”
I said, “I’m not complaining. Just add am. I know wetin I dey do.”

He shook his head but still added more.
I thanked him and told him to tie it for me.
As he was tying it, he was still talking. “I just dey wonder why you want too much pepper today. Before before, you no dey do like this.
