When I woke up, all I could think about were Jhol Momos and Kothe Momos from my favourite spot, Lama Kitchen in Hauz Khas, Delhi. With that craving in mind, my friends and I headed to the metro station and boarded the Yellow Line toward Hauz Khas Metro Station, the nearest stop to the restaurant. A quick Uber ride later, we arrived at The Lama Kitchen.
The moment we entered, we were greeted by a warm Himalayan inspired aesthetic, wooden interiors, soft lighting, and a cosy ambience that instantly made the food experience even more inviting. I tried capturing the view, but honestly, my photography skills dont do justice to how beautiful the place really looked.
Hungry and excited, we ordered our favourites: Kothe Momos and Jhol Momos. Served in a rustic wooden basket, the Kothe Momos had that perfect balance, crispy on the bottom and soft on top, with a delicious vegetarian filling that didnt disappoint for a second. Beside them sat the comforting bowl of Jhol Momos, steamed dumplings soaked in a warm, flavorful Nepali style gravy. The rich, spiced jhol made each bite even more satisfying, especially on a cool day.
Even as I write this, my mouth is watering just thinking about how good everything tasted. Lama Kitchen truly never misses. If you're ever in Hauz Khas and looking for comfort food with Himalayan soul, this place is absolutely worth the stop.
xoxo,
Gauri
