Hello to this Hive Food Community! A very pleasant day to everyone reading my post today. I’m so happy and excited because this is actually my very first time posting in this community. Even though I truly love cooking, I don’t always get the chance to prepare dishes and share them online. Being a full-time mom to a very energetic 3-year-old son means most of my time and attention goes to him. I also don’t have a yaya to help me, so every free moment is precious.
Cooking usually happens only when my son is asleep, busy playing, or when I finally get a little free time. Today was one of those rare moments, and instead of resting, I decided to grab the opportunity to cook and share a simple but satisfying lunch with all of you. This dish may look humble, but it was prepared with love, patience, and a grateful heart.
For our lunch, I cooked Chicharo Beans with Chicharon Baboy. It’s a quick dish, very easy to prepare, and perfect for days when you want something tasty without spending too much time in the kitchen. Most of the ingredients are simple and affordable, which makes it ideal for everyday home cooking—especially for busy parents like me.
Ingredients
Here are the ingredients I used for this recipe:
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 whole onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1/8 cup of water
1/2 cup chicharo beans
1 pack chicharon baboy
Paminta (ground pepper), to taste
1 Knorr chicken cube
Step-by-Step Cooking Procedure
Prepare the aromatics.
Start by heating your pan and sautéing the garlic until it becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn it, as garlic cooks quickly.
Add the onion and tomato.
Once the garlic is lightly golden, add the chopped onion and tomato. Sauté everything together until the onion becomes soft and the tomato starts to release its natural juices. This step is important because it creates the flavorful base of the dish.
Add water to prevent dryness.
Pour in about 1/8 cup of water to keep the sauté from drying out. Let it simmer gently for a short while.
Season with Knorr chicken cube.
Add the Knorr chicken cube and allow it to dissolve completely in the liquid. Stir gently and let the flavors combine well.
Cook the chicharo beans.
Next, add the chicharo beans to the pan. Sauté them for just a few seconds to a minute so they remain slightly crisp but fully cooked.
Add the chicharon baboy.
When everything is cooked, add the chicharon baboy last. This gives the dish a more attractive appearance and adds a delicious crunchy texture that makes it extra appetizing.
And tadaaa! 🍽️
This is my simple yet special Chicharo Beans with Chicharon Baboy. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for a home-cooked lunch. Even with limited time in the kitchen, I was able to prepare something satisfying for my family—and that makes me really happy.
I hope you enjoyed reading my first food story here in the Hive Food Community. Thank you so much for your time and support. I’m looking forward to sharing more recipes and cooking experiences with you soon.See you again, take care, and happy cooking! 💚🥗
