π.. It's a great day today and I wanted to share to you a simple recipe that has a rich , savory sweet flavor-- BRAISED PORK BELLY (PORK HUMBA)
Every weekend of the day , it's always a tradition in our family to prepare something best,rich and comforting foods. A braised pork belly is best to complete my family's day..
This braised pork belly is just a mix of vinegar, soya sauce,sugar to create a sweet, savory , and tangy flavor..
Here's the following ingredients
- Pork belly β 1 kg, cut into cubes , preferred cut must be balance meat and fat
- Garlic β 5 cloves, minced
- Onion β 1 medium, chopped
- Soy sauce β Β½ cup
- Vinegar β ΒΌ cup
- Pineapple juice β 1 cup
- Brown sugar β 3 tbsp
- Bay leaves β 2 pieces
- Peppercorns β 1 tsp
- Water β 2 cups
These are the instructions in cooking the braised pork belly
I prepare the pan, heat with a little bit amount of oil and add the pork,until it's brown and until belly fat is removed.
After fat is being removed, I prepare another pan to sautΓ© all the aromatics like onion and garlic.
I poured the pineapple juice (this provides a fruity and tangy taste),soy sauce,and vinegar and I simmered it for three minutes.I slightly stirred it.
And I added the bay leaves,peppercorns,and brown sugar and stir it thoroughly.
I add the water and simmer it for another 45 minutes or until pork belly is tender. Simmer it until sauce becomes thick.
And then here it is..One kilogram of pork belly braised would yield to 6-8 servings.
I serve this to my family and paired it with rice π
