La chicha es una de las bebidas tradicionales en Venezuela, y me atrevo a decir que no hay un venezolano que no la haya probado alguna vez, de hecho puedes encontrar un carrito o local de chicha en cualquier rinconcito de nuestro país, y es que en definitiva, es de las cosas más ricas que probarás en tu vida, pero hay un pequeño detalle, y es que no todos saben prepararla, y hace muchísimo tiempo que no encuentro un lugar que la prepare como a mí me gusta, que es bien espesa, con mucho sabor a arroz y súper cremosa.
Antes conocía dos lugares donde preparaban esta bebida justo como me gustaba pero ya no existen, y hasta ahora sigo en la búsqueda de una opción que me encante, así que ayer al salir de la prácticas de ajedrez de Matías, decidimos detenernos a probar las chichas de un lugarcito llamado Sushicha, que queda justo en la entrada del C.C . Ecocenter.
Se trata de un local pequeño de madera que ofrece la tradicional chicha de arroz, y no de pasta (como lo hacen algunos "chicheros"), y cada vez que pasaba por ahí decía que las probaría pero al final no lo hacía, y ayer finalmente ayer llegó el momento indicado.
Chicha is one of the traditional drinks in Venezuela, and I dare say that there is not a Venezuelan who has not tried it once, in fact you can find a cart or local chicha in any corner of our country, and it is definitely one of the tastiest things you will try in your life, but there is a small detail, and is that not everyone knows how to prepare it, and for a long time I have not found a place that prepares it as I like it, which is very thick, with lots of rice flavor and super creamy.
I used to know two places where they prepared this drink just the way I like it but they no longer exist, and so far I'm still looking for an option that I love, so yesterday when leaving Matías' chess practice, we decided to stop to try the chichas of a little place called Sushicha, which is right at the entrance of the C.C. Ecocenter. Ecocenter.
It is a small wooden place that offers the traditional rice chicha, and not pasta (as some "chicheros " do), and every time I passed by there I said I would try them but in the end I didn't, and yesterday the right moment finally came.
En el local ofrecen las chichas en distintos tamaños y precios, desde 1$ que es la más pequeña, hasta 4$ que es un envase de 24 onzas, y la ofrecen con los toppings tradicionales, como lo son la canela y la leche condensada, a diferencia de otros locales donde puedes encontrar una gran variedad que incluye cereales, arequipe, chispas de chocolate, sirop de chocolate, y pare de contar.
Nosotros nos decidimos por la de 1$ ya que era la primera vez que las comprábamos y no sabíamos qué tal estarían, así que cancelamos utilizando el método de pago móvil a través del código QR, ya que no cuentan con punto de venta, y en cuestión de minutos estábamos listos para probar nuestras chichas.
In the store they offer the chichas in different sizes and prices, from 1$ which is the smallest, up to 4$ which is a 24 ounce container, and they offer them with the traditional toppings, such as cinnamon and condensed milk, unlike other stores where you can find a wide variety that includes cereals, arequipe, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and so on.
We decided to go for the 1$ as it was the first time we bought them and we did not know how they would be, so we paid using the mobile payment method through the QR code, since they do not have a point of sale, and in a matter of minutes we were ready to try our chichas.
Debo decir que son "aceptables", pero no es lo que esperas de una chicha, o por lo menos no es lo que yo espero, y no me malentiendan, tenía buen sabor, pero estaba muy líquida, bastante aguada diría yo, y eso daña por completo la experiencia, ya que lo que caracteriza a esta bebida es la cremosidad y su espesor, y esta no la tenía, así que si me piden calificarla le daría un 5/10, y la verdad no creo que me anime a comprarla nuevamente, porque aunque no está mal, tampoco es como debería ser.
Así que seguiré en la búsqueda de la chicha perfecta, y cuando la encuentre sin dudas pasaré por aquí a contarles.
I must say that they are "acceptable ", but it is not what you expect from a chicha, or at least it is not what I expect, and don't get me wrong, it had good flavor, but it was very liquid, quite watery I would say, and that completely damages the experience, since what characterizes this drink is its creaminess and thickness, and this one didn't have it, so if I were asked to rate it I would give it a 5/10, and the truth is I don't think I would buy it again, because although it's not bad, it's not as it should be.
So I'll keep searching for the perfect chicha, and when I find it I'll definitely stop by to tell you about it.
