I've been working on a project for the R&D department for a while now and have got to know one of the testing engineers quite well. He plays guitar and has quite the collection and is generously lending me some of them.
There is a fair overlap in music that we like such as Vai, Satriani. He goes more for the 80's UK metal like Iron Maiden and Motorhead where I headed towards the US with your Van Halens and the Aussie AC/DC.
I've never owned a guitar with a locking system/tremolo/Floyd Rose type set up so first up he's lent me an Ibanez Jem for a touch of Vai. There are very few parts of Vai songs that I can play so I started with what I thought might be a bit easier - the song Sisters from his 1990 album Passion and Warfare. There are quite a few trickier bit in it and I kept going through some stuff ups until about the 1:30 mark and then called it.
The guitar will be going back next week and I'll see what he brings in next to replace it.
Hope you enjoy it! Stay safe and catch you soon.
