I have posted many times about my hobby of collecting guitar picks (or plectrums if your prefer). Just check out the #pickswap tag. I have quite a selection that include some sent to me by people all over the world. It is quite a popular hobby with some people concentrating on picks used by famous players. Those can go for serious money, but I am happy with everyday picks and just want variety.
At our Sunday open mic said she had a present for me and gave me this small box. She said the picture reminded her of me. Well I acknowledge that I am a geek.
In the box was a small bag with a leather tag.
In the bag was a set of finger picks. I have taken to using a thumb pick lately, but I have never experimented too much with finger picks. Due to the muscle issues with my right hand I am not able to use my fingers as I might have in the past.
These are from Pick Geek who have a wide variety of picks and guitar accessories. I actually have one of their regular picks that someone broke at a pub session. I do not mind used and broken picks in my collection.
The pick I have been using recently is this one from Herco (part of the Dunlop empire). I find it works fairly well for me for strumming. I bought a couple of these ages ago, but had not really used them until now. I have issues hanging on to a regular pick due to lack of grip strength. This is something that started a few years back and specialists have not come up with any cure.
I am always interested in more contributions to my collection. If you have something then let me know and we can work something out. I can cover costs with $HIVE or votes. If anyone else is collecting then we may be able to arrange a swap as I have spares. I am just collecting for fun and I love the variety. Lots of picks are made for promoting music shops and brands. I want more of those.
Rock on!
