[Gramáfono Retro: moderno con apariencia antigua/Retro gramophone: modern with an antique look]
Hace unos días me llamó Ana. Una amiga que disfruta desde años, la buena música de la época de los 80. Esos hits en Inglés, que supieron tatuar en los recuerdos de generaciones, por su calidad, su musicalidad y los temas de sus letras.
Ella, desde hace tiempo, buscaba comprar un tocadisco vintage, que le realzara el diseño de la sala de su casa, con su mobiliario antiguo.
Me refiere, que estaba felíz, porque compró un equipo antiguo como tanto deseaba. Me hace llegar la foto, y al instante me percato que no lo es. El equipo tiene una entrada para leer memorias con audio en compresión digital.
Se lo hago saber, y su inicial desborde de alegría, se transmutó en segundos en un sentimiento de molestia y dolor. El vendedor le aseguró que era un tocadisco antiguo, porque así lo reflejaba su apariencia externa con su rebestimiento en madera. Estaba apurado por vender, porque tenía que viajar, y ofertaba su equipo en un precio menor a su valor real.
Ana, sin dar tiempo a verificar el producto, lo compró siguiendo su impulso y su sueño; y una semana después es que logró llamarme.
En base a esa historia, les hago llegar este post. Para evitar que las personas de nuestra comunidad de #Hive, no pasen por este tipo de problemas.

I let him know, and his initial overflow of joy, transmuted in seconds into a feeling of annoyance and pain. The seller assured him that it was an antique record player, because that was reflected in its external appearance with its wood veneer. He was in a hurry to sell, because he had to travel, and was offering his equipment at a price lower than its real value.
Ana, without giving him time to verify the product, bought it following his impulse and his dream; and a week later he managed to call me.

Mi pasión por los equipos de Audio Vintage germinó desde la adolescencia. Un gusto heredado de mi abuelo, y que tiene una tendencia creciente a nivel mundial, tanto en hombres como en mujeres.
El Audio Vintage, es ese sonido que disfrutamos en casa, pero con la peculiaridad de ser emitido por equipos antiguos, donde predominan las fuentes analógicas de sonido; y la potencia en volumen no es lo más importante, si no la calidad de esa música que acaricia a nuestros sentidos, y toda la historia que encierran esos equipos, con su diversidad de marcas y modelos.
Con frecuencia, se tiende a confundir lo Vintage con lo Retro, y aunque pueda parecernos igual, los separa una gran diferencia.
Un componente tecnológico del tipo que sea, será retro, cuando se diseñó y fabricó en la actualidad, pero con la estética o la apariencia de los equipos construidos en épocas pasadas.
Para ejemplificar, hay tiendas que han vendido tocadiscos, radios y gramófonos, donde les incluyen un sintonizador, un reproductor de disco compacto o una entrada para un procesamiento digital. Eso jamás será un componente vintage. Es un combo o híbrido, al incorporar en una misma unidad varias funciones. En fin, es un equipo retro donde se le agregaron funcionalidades de equipos actuales.
Es importante conocer estos detalles, porque hay personas, como el caso de Ana, que han comprado un tocadisco, o un gramófono con estas características, pensando que es una pieza original, y pueden caer presa de estafadores o de vendedores que pueden hacerte, como decimos en Cuba: dar gato por liebre.
Lo hacen por el simple hecho de cerrar una venta, o en los menores de los casos, por desconocer la realidad de lo que ofertan.
En la actualidad, es común ver a personas en una tienda, vendiendo un producto que ni conocen, o ni se toman la molestia de saber los detalles de éste. El mismo interesado, a veces conoce más, que el mismo vendedor.
Es una verdad, el aforismo que se gestó del pensamiento del filósofo inglés Francis Bacon: “El Conocimiento es Poder”.
Un equipo de audio lo podemos catalogar como vintage, cuando tiene una edad mínima de 20 años, desde su fabricación. Te darás cuenta, en los materiales de su acabado cosmético, en su diseño; sabiendo su marca y su modelo específico, tendrás la manera de hasta corroborarlo vía online. Hay que leer sus especificaciones, analizar los detalles de sus fotos; y muy importante, conocer los pormenores de su historia, más las opiniones reflejadas por las personas que comparten esta afición.
Bueno amigos, espero haber aclarado esta diferencia, y si un día se deciden por comprar un equipo de Audio Vintage, u otro objeto que los motive, deben conocer algo sobre éste; y cerciorarse bien, cuando lo tengan en sus manos, para que no los timen, y puedan disfrutar de lo que realmente quieren.

My passion for Vintage Audio equipment germinated since I was a teenager. A taste inherited from my grandfather, and that has a growing trend worldwide, both in men and women.
The Vintage Audio, is that sound that we enjoy at home, but with the peculiarity of being emitted by old equipment, where analog sound sources predominate; and the power in volume is not the most important thing, if not the quality of that music that caresses our senses, and all the history that enclose these teams, with its diversity of brands and models.
Often, there is a tendency to confuse the Vintage with the Retro, and although it may seem the same, there is a big difference between them.
A technological component of any kind will be retro, when it was designed and manufactured in the present, but with the aesthetics or appearance of equipment built in the past.
For example, there are stores that have sold record players, radios and gramophones, where they include a tuner, a compact disc player or an input for digital processing. That will never be a vintage component. It is a combo or hybrid, incorporating several functions in the same unit. In short, it is a retro equipment where functionalities of current equipment have been added.
It is important to know these details, because there are people, as in Ana's case, who have bought a record player or a gramophone with these characteristics, thinking that it is an original piece, and they can fall prey to swindlers or sellers who can make you, as we say in Cuba: to give a cat for a hare.
They do it for the simple fact of closing a sale, or in the lesser cases, for not knowing the reality of what they offer.
Nowadays, it is common to see people in a store, selling a product that they do not even know, or do not even bother to know the details of it. The interested party sometimes knows more than the seller himself.
It is a truth, the aphorism that came from the thought of the English philosopher Francis Bacon: "Knowledge is Power".
An audio equipment can be catalogued as vintage, when it has a minimum age of 20 years, since its manufacture. You will notice it in the materials of its cosmetic finish, in its design; knowing its brand and its specific model, you will have the way to corroborate it online. It is necessary to read its specifications, analyze the details of its photos; and very important, to know the details of its history, plus the opinions reflected by the people who share this hobby.
