Hola mi nombre es Ana Lilian Mena Ruiz y soy nueva en la comunidad Hive Cuba, estoy muy agradecida por los conocimientos y la guía brindada por mi compañero René Covas Torres quién me ha mostrado lo maravillosa que es esta plataforma.
Mi nombre es Ana Lilian Mena Ruiz, nací el 22 de agosto del 2001 en la provincia de Villa Clara, en la mayor isla de Caribe, Cuba. Actualmente resido en la ciudad de la Habana, la capital.
Desde pequeña estuve incentivada por mis padres para mantener mis estudios como una prioridad, volviéndose un hábito necesario en mi día a día, hasta convertirme en la actualidad en una profesional en la geología o como otros la conocen las ciencias de la tierra, siendo egresada de la Universidad de Pinar del Río Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca.
Dentro de mis pasatiempos de mayor relevancia tengo que mencionar lo mucho que me gusta mantenerme saludable y en buena forma física visitando el gimnasio, siento que cultivo mi cuerpo sintiéndome bien conmigo misma y encontrando inspiración en el espejo al ver que ningún esfuerzo es en vano y que he llegado a ser la mujer que soñé, intentando siempre dar más de mí porque los límites solo los ponemos nosotros mismos. También le dedico especial atención mis amigos y a forjar lazos duraderos de amistad, los amigos son la familia que uno escoge y tal como hacen tus alegrías más grandes, hacen tus tristezas menos pesadas. Por otra parte, amo conocer otros idiomas, siento que es una vía para conocer el mundo y sus diferentes culturas, tan fascinantes. Aprender más sobre mi profesión se vuelve adictivo, actualmente trabajo en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología de Cuba (IGP) allí espero convertir en especialista de la mineralogía y la petrología ya que estas son las dos ramas que más me fascinan de mi profesión, por la belleza única que posee cada mineral, por lo mucho que nos cuenta su composición química, las características físicas y ópticas además de sus procesos y ambientes de formación. También es muy gratificante para mí conocer más sobre la geología de los yacimientos minerales, gracias a los profesionales que me han instruido a diario logro amar más mi labor y desarrollarla con mayor entusiasmo. Sin duda alguna algo que roba totalmente mi atención es la exploración de energías renovables como es el caso principalmente de la energía geotérmica que proviene de volcanes, depósitos con temperaturas lo suficientemente elevada y otras fuentes que proporcionan calor en el interior de la tierra.
Otro de mis pasatiempos más importantes es desarrollar mi pasión por la fotografía, siendo para mí la fauna el tema más interesante y el que más capta mi atención, en especial capturar a través de un lente lo bello y asombroso que esconde la interacción entre animales de diferentes especies, mostrando así a través de fotografías lo diverso que puede llegar a ser nuestro planeta y dejando ver las cosas que realmente valen la pena cuidar. Otras fotografías que me gustan tomar, además de aquellas que muestran el contraste del medio, son las que abarcan detalles, en especial de nosotros los humanos, nuestras expresiones y la variedad de gestos que pueden parecer insignificantes, pero muestran más de lo que las personas pueden llegar a notar, además de aquellas fotografías de lugares que cuentan una historia que nos hacen conocer a nuestros antepasados.
Conocí sobre este medio a través de mi colega René Cobas Torres quién tiene amplios conocimientos sobre la plataforma y me ha ayudado a instruirme sobre este novedoso proyecto. En esta plataforma espero poder mantenerme informada de toda actualidad que allí se comparte, intercambiar conocimientos, conocer otros horizontes sobre lo maravilloso e instructivo que es este medio. Considero que puedo aportar a esta plataforma valiosa información sobre la cultura y belleza de mi país, para que aquellas personas que no han tenido la oportunidad de conocerlo y pueden llegar algún día a disfrutar de sus peculiaridades como isla caribeña.

My name is Ana Lilian Mena Ruiz, I was born on August 22, 2001 in the province of Villa Clara, on the largest Caribbean island, Cuba. I currently reside in Havana, the capital city.
Since I was a child, I was encouraged by my parents to prioritize my studies, which became a necessary habit in my daily life, leading me to become a professional in geology, also known as earth sciences, graduating from the University of Pinar del Río Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca.
One of my most relevant hobbies is staying healthy and physically fit by visiting the gym. I feel that I nurture my body, feeling good about myself and finding inspiration in the mirror, seeing that no effort is in vain and that I have become the woman I dreamed of. I always strive to give more of myself because we set our own limits. I also pay special attention to my friends and to forging lasting bonds of friendship. Friends are the family we choose, and just as they amplify our greatest joys, they make our sorrows less burdensome.
Furthermore, I love learning other languages; I feel it is a way to explore the world and its diverse and fascinating cultures. Delving deeper into my profession becomes addictive. I currently work at the Cuban Institute of Geology and Paleontology (IGP) where I hope to specialize in mineralogy and petrology, as these are the two branches that fascinate me most in my profession. I find the unique beauty of each mineral, along with its chemical composition, physical and optical characteristics, processes, and formation environments extremely captivating. It is also very rewarding for me to learn more about the geology of mineral deposits, and thanks to the professionals who instruct me daily, I am able to love my work more and carry it out with greater enthusiasm.
Undoubtedly, something that completely captivates my attention is the exploration of renewable energies, especially geothermal energy originating from volcanoes, deposits with sufficiently high temperatures, and other sources that provide heat within the earth.
Another important hobby of mine is developing my passion for photography. For me, capturing wildlife is the most interesting subject that captures my attention, especially capturing the beauty and wonder hidden in the interactions between animals of different species through a lens. Through photographs, I aim to showcase the diversity of our planet and highlight the things that are truly worth preserving. In addition to pictures showcasing environmental contrasts, I also enjoy capturing details, particularly of us humans - our expressions and the variety of gestures that may seem insignificant but reveal more than people may initially notice. I am also drawn to photographs of places that tell a story, allowing us to understand our ancestors.
I learned about this platform through my colleague René Cobas Torres, who has extensive knowledge about the platform and has helped me learn about this innovative project. On this platform, I hope to stay informed about all the current events shared, exchange knowledge, and explore different perspectives on how wonderful and instructive this platform is. I believe I can contribute valuable information about the culture and beauty of my country so that those who have not had the opportunity to experience it may one day enjoy its unique characteristics as a Caribbean island.
