#ActualidadCuba, documentando mi realidad actual/ #NewsCuba, documenting my current reality.
At times the hours of blackout become endless and although we are not in Pinar del Río, the anguish is felt, during the days of the passage of the hurricane
(before, during and after) this small photographic series was made that I show you today. The stress is added to that of the complicated times that it already exerted, caused in part by the meteorological event and the economic and social situation of the island.
I recently showed images of the minor damage caused in my town, which you can see here today I would like to show something more personal, photographs of my grandmother during the power outage. Anyone who knows my photographic work knows the close relationship between it and her. Taking these images documents a bit the situation that we live in for many hours in the country, since after a failure in the national electrical system, the fluid was cut off at times. The entire territory.
The lighting situation at the time of the captures was not optimal for obvious reasons, technically many images could appear blurred, which is true.
In this case, the most important thing for me is to document my reality, yes, in my photographic work I have the premise that everything I do has to be aesthetically beautiful (and that is what I always try) no matter what situation I face.
