¡Hola! Buenos días a todos y todas de HiveCuba. Hoy quería compartirles los primeros resultados de mi primera semana practicando con la máquina de coser. Se trata de una máquina Brother antigua de pedal a la que le adaptaron un motor eléctrico para agilizar el trabajo de manufactura.
Para mí, la parte más complicada al trabajar con la máquina de coser es el enhebrado. Requiere mucho cuidado a la hora de pasar el hilo 🪡🧵 por los orificios correctos, porque si cometes un error en un solo paso, puedes comprometer toda la costura.

Lo último que aprendí esta semana fue a marcar dibujos en fundas, sábanas y pañales. Aquí está la magia: hay que tener mucho cuidado al dibujar. Son varios los tips, como no presionar demasiado el papel carbón sobre la tela para evitar manchas, o marcar lo suficiente para que el dibujo quede oscuro.
En fin, son muchas cosas por aprender que mantienen la mente enfocada en nuevas tareas.

Hello! Good morning everyone HiveCuba. Today I wanted to share the first results of my first week practicing with the sewing machine. It's an old Brother treadle machine that was fitted with an electric motor to speed up the sewing process.
For me, the most complicated part of working with the sewing machine is threading it. It requires a lot of care when passing the thread through the correct holes, because if you make a mistake in just one step, you can ruin the entire stitch.
Next comes coordinating the movement of the pedal with the needle. At first, it was a little difficult, but now there are days when the pedal feels so smooth it practically works by itself. Finally, I did the stitching by combining the whole process: straight stitching and zigzag stitching, which looks like little points.
The last thing I learned this week was how to mark designs on pillowcases, sheets, and diapers. Here's the trick: you have to be very careful when drawing. There are several tips, such as not pressing too hard with the carbon paper on the fabric to avoid smudging, or pressing hard enough so the drawing is dark.
In short, there are many things to learn that keep the mind focused on new tasks.
