Mi nombre completo es Marisol Esponda Rodríguez tengo 28 años de edad y soy Ing. Geóloga. Actualmente trabajo en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología Servicio Geológico de Cuba.

Desde niña fui muy intranquila, así que mi mamá tuvo que ponerme en deportes desde los 4 años, por lo que estuve en karate, tenis, voleibol hasta terminar en natación, que fue el deporte por el que más años practique hasta que me lesione la rodilla por un mal entrenamiento. Esta fue una etapa difícil para mí porque me prohibieron hacer deportes, no podía ni subir escaleras ni caminar distancias largas, los doctores me recomendaron operarme, pero dije que no y hasta hoy el dolor continúa, pero no he dejado de limitarme.
Since I was a child I was very restless, so my mom had to put me in sports since I was 4 years old, so I was in karate, tennis, volleyball until I ended up in swimming, which was the sport for which I practiced more years until I injured my knee by a bad training. This was a difficult stage for me because I was forbidden to do sports, I could not climb stairs or walk long distances, the doctors recommended surgery, but I said no and until today the pain continues, but I have not stopped limiting myself.
Puedo decir que unas de mis mejores etapas fue la escuela de ciencias exactas Vladimir Ilich Lenin, las amistades y los conocimientos que aprendí en esa maravillosa escuela van a estar siempre conmigo. Si hay alguno que estuvo en la Lenin y me está leyendo sabrá de lo que les hablo. Las caminatas por el bosque de la amistad, las “recres”, incluso hasta estudiar en los pasillos de la escuela, la champion y el trampolín son recuerdos que cada vez que me llegan me hacen dibujar una sonrisa.
I can say that one of my best stages was the Vladimir Ilyich Lenin School of Exact Sciences, the friendships and the knowledge I learned in that wonderful school will always be with me. If there is anyone who was at Lenin and is reading this, he/she will know what I am talking about. The walks through the forest of friendship, the "recres", even studying in the halls of the school, the champion and the trampoline are memories that every time they come to me make me draw a smile.

Después de esos 3 años becada vino la Universidad y ahí vino el dolor de cabeza porque siempre he tenido claro que detesto las letras (que ironía mira donde terminé) excepto leer me encanta leer. Algo que me gusta son las computadoras, pero veía que se graduaban muchos informáticos y después no tenían ubicación, así que opte por escoger una ciencia que sea poco estudiada en Cuba y que tenga bastante campo y de ahí vino Geología y puede que algunos se pregunten ¿qué es la geología? (pueden googlearlo) pero voy a ser buena y les voy ahorrar el trabajo Geo=Tierra, Logia=Ciencia por lo tanto podemos decir que es la ciencia que estudia la tierra, creo que explicación más fácil no van a encontrar. Pero a pesar de que me gusta la geología principalmente la mineralogía también me gusta la programación y es algo que he aprendido por mi cuenta y siempre estoy tratando de aplicarla a la geología.
After those 3 years of scholarship came the University and there came the headache because I have always been clear that I hate letters (how ironic, look where I ended up) except reading, I love reading. Something I like are computers, but I saw that many computer scientists graduated and then had no location, so I chose to choose a science that is little studied in Cuba and that has enough field and from there came Geology and some may wonder what is geology (you can google it) but I'll be good and I'll save you the work Geo=Earth, Logia=Science so we can say that it is the science that studies the earth, I think easier explanation will not find. But even though I like geology mainly mineralogy I also like programming and it is something I have learned on my own and I am always trying to apply it to geology.

Hasta ahora he hablado de logros a nivel profesional pero mi mayor logro ha sido mi niña Emily o como ella se hace llamar “La Wiwi”. Tiene 4años y si yo era intranquila en esa edad ella es el triple, le gusta todo lo artístico ya sea canto, baile, teatro. Este de verdad es mi mayor reto ya que soy madre soltera y no me minimizo, al contrario, me siento orgullosa porque he sabido levantarme en una de las etapas más difíciles que he pasado.
Un niño de 4 años por si solo te mantiene ocupado, pero cuando tenemos
Hijo (inteligencia + intranquilidad + arte) = Madre (dolor de cabeza)
So far I have talked about professional achievements but my biggest achievement has been my little girl Emily or as she calls herself "La Wiwi". She is 4 years old and if I was restless at that age, she is three times as restless, she likes everything artistic whether it is singing, dancing or theater. This is really my biggest challenge since I am a single mother and I do not minimize myself, on the contrary, I feel proud because I have been able to stand up in one of the most difficult stages I have gone through.
A 4 year old child alone keeps you busy, but when we have
Child (intelligence + restlessness + art) = Mother (headache).

De por si soy escasa de palabras, pero creo mejorar con la práctica. Siempre fui pésima en las pruebas de español, cuando mandaban a redactar me quería esconder debajo de una roca, para nada se me daba bien y tenía que exprimirme el cerebro para poder redactar algo. Nunca me gustó escribir y tuve suerte de que tanto en la primaria y secundaria las amistades que se sentaban a mi lado me copiaban las clases en mi libreta (ventajas). En el preuniversitario y universidad no te revisaban las libretas (que bueno), pero como todo en la vida hace falta ahora necesito de esta habilidad en la escritura que espero encontrarla en alguna parte sino creo que estoy de más en esta plataforma. Espero encontrar aquí un lugar para compartir sanamente y poder ayudarnos entre todos y sin más Nos leemos.
In and of itself I'm short on words, but I think I'm getting better with practice. I always sucked at Spanish tests, when they sent me to write I wanted to hide under a rock, I wasn't good at all and I had to rack my brain to write something. I never liked writing and I was lucky that in elementary and high school my friends who sat next to me copied my classes in my notebook (advantages). In pre-university and university they didn't check your notebooks (good thing), but as everything in life is needed now I need this writing skill that I hope to find somewhere, otherwise I think I'm in over my head on this platform. I hope to find here a place to share healthily and to be able to help each other and without further ado I will read you.
