Luego de unos días bastante ajetreados, vuelvo con todo para cumplir con el segundo desafío del rally de The Terminal. En esta oportunidad nos han invitado a dar un paseo por cada uno de los canales que existen en el Discord de The Terminal con el objetivo que los conozcamos a profundidad y sepamos aprovecharlos al máximo en esta edición del rally.
Para poder completar el desafío satisfactoriamente nos pidieron seleccionar 3 canales de diferentes secciones, compartir nuestras impresiones al respecto y sugerir sugerencias que permitan mejorar el desempeño del mismo.
Antes de comenzar, considero prudente responder a la pregunta:
¿Qué es Discord?

Decidí empezar por este punto porque no todos conocen Discord y es una herramienta ideal para crecer en Hive y hacer comunidad, ya que nos permite comunicarnos fácilmente por voz, texto e incluso vídeo.
Los fundadores de Discord, Jason Citron y Stan Vishnevskiy, encontraron su motivación para crear este proyecto en una problemática existente: la comunicación entre jugadores mientras se jugaba en línea. Ambos amaban los videojuegos y sentían que las herramientas existentes para cumplir esta función en ese entonces eran lentas, poco fiables y complejas.
Ellos estaban seguros de que podían ofrecer un mejor servicio, así que en el 2.015 dan vida a Discord con una gran recepción del público y a pesar de que fue pensada inicialmente para gamers, lo cierto es que comunidades de todo tipo encuentran en Discord un espacio para compartir.
En la actualidad, Discord se adapta a todo tipo de plataformas y está disponible para Windows, Mac, Android, iOS y Linux. Además, cuenta con una versión web lo cuál facilita su acceso donde quiera que estés.
Conozcamos el Discord de The Terminal
El objetivo de "The Terminal" es ayudar a los nuevos usuarios de las cadenas de bloques Hive y Steem a aprender y crecer en las plataformas. En su discord se enseña, se responden preguntas y se hace contacto con nuevas comunidades.

Como puedes ver en la imagen hay muchísimos canales en el Discord de The Terminal (muchos más de los que muestro, los cuáles puedes ver deslizando la flecha que aparece al inicio de cada sección).
Mis favoritos
Entre todos los canales disponibles, se me pidió que hablara sobre 3 de ellos en diferentes secciones, fue una tarea difícil elegir tan pocos entre todo el abanico de opciones pero decidí hablar un poco sobre los que considero mis favoritos.
Chat-español:
En el Discord de The Terminal hacen vida personas de diferentes países y por ende no todos hablan el mismo idioma, en la mayoría de sus salas el idioma que se debe utilizar es el inglés, a excepción de esta sala que fue especialmente creada para que los hispanohablantes conversemos entre nosotros.
Esto no quiere decir que una persona cuyo idioma nativo sea inglés no pueda compartir con nosotros, para eliminar esas barreras comunicacionales, en The Terminal existe un bot que se encarga de traducir las palabras, para ello se debe escribir la siguiente sentencia:

En el resto de las salas somos nosotros quiénes debemos utilizar este bot a la inversa, para que traduzca al inglés y los moderadores nos puedan comprender.
Contests-to-enter:
Me encanta el canal #contests-to-enter porque en él todos los días están compartiendo concursos en los que nos podemos apuntar y por supuesto optar a algunos premios, me parece que la persona que se le ocurrió añadir esta sección es una persona con una gran visión porque una oportunidad para crecer en la plataforma es precisamente participar en las diferentes dinámicas que se realizan.
Post-promo-members:
En este espacio todos los miembros de The Terminal pueden compartir sus publicaciones, pero... hay una condición, para compartir tu post debes previamente brindar soporte a alguien que haya compartido su post, de esta forma todos nos ayudamos.
Existen algunos canales similares, por ejemplo, #rally-promo-100 y #rally-promo-500 para que compartan los posts quienes están participando en las dos categorías del rally y #post-promo-redfish que es utilizada por todos los pecesillos rojos.
Información adicional
En el Discord existen varios roles y dependiendo del que tengamos compartiremos nuestro contenido en un lugar u otro, así que asegúrate de compartir tu post en el espacio que corresponda a tu rol.
Conclusión y sugerencias
En el Discord de The Terminal podemos encontrar todo tipo de información útil que nos permitirá crecer en Hive, al principio esta travesía fue un poco compleja, habían muchísimos espacios por visitar, pero se logró la misión.
Como sugerencia principal considero importante que se verifiquen las salas que están en desuso y si no es necesario utilizarlas, eliminarlas o restringir su visualización para los demás usuarios, por ejemplo, es el caso de las salas #coff33a-contest y #themed-groups.
Por otro lado, los temas a tratar en el canal #wallet-help pudieran ser tratados en #answers-to-questions y de esta forma eliminar ese canal.
Con respecto al canal #server-advertising considero que debería estar ubicado en un lugar superior como BEGIN HERE o THE COMMONS y que se deben verificar los enlaces y eliminar aquellos que están caídos.

After some pretty busy days, I'm back with everything to fulfill the second challenge of The Terminal rally. In this opportunity we have been invited to take a walk through each of the channels that exist in the Discord of The Terminal with the aim that we know in depth and know how to make the most of this edition of rally.
In order to complete the challenge satisfactorily they asked us to select 3 channels from different sections, share our impressions about them and suggest suggestions to improve their performance.
Before we start, I think it is wise to answer the question:
What is Discord?

I decided to start from this point because not everybody knows Discord and it is an ideal tool to grow in Hive and to make community, since it allows us to communicate easily by voice, text and even video.
The founders of Discord, Jason Citron and Stan Vishnevskiy, found their motivation to create this project in an existing problem: the communication between players while playing online. They both loved video games and felt that the existing tools to fulfill this function at that time were slow, unreliable and complex.
They were sure that they could offer a better service, so in 2.015 they give life to Discord with a great public reception and although it was initially thought for gamers, the truth is that communities of all kinds find in Discord a space to share.
Today, Discord is adaptable to all types of platforms and is available for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS and Linux. It also has a web version which makes it easy to access wherever you are.
Let's meet the Discord of The Terminal
The aim of "The Terminal" is to help new users of the Hive and Steem block chains to learn and grow on the platforms. It teaches, answers questions and makes contact with new communities.

As you can see in the image there are many channels in The Terminal's Discord (many more than I show, which you can see by sliding the arrow at the beginning of each section).
My favorites
Among all the available channels, I was asked to talk about 3 of them in different sections, it was a difficult task to choose so few among the whole range of options but I decided to talk a little about what I consider my favorites.
Chat-español:
In the Discord of The Terminal people from different countries come alive and therefore not all speak the same language, in most of its rooms the language that should be used is English, except for this room that was specially created for Spanish speakers to converse with each other.
This doesn't mean that a person whose native language is English can't share with us, to eliminate those communication barriers, in The Terminal there is a bot that is in charge of translating the words, for that you must write the following sentence:

Contests-to-enter:
I love the channel #contests-to-enter because every day they are sharing contests in which we can sign up and of course opt for some prizes, I think the person who thought of adding this section is a person with a great vision because an opportunity to grow on the platform is precisely to participate in the different dynamics that take place.
Post-promo-members:
In this space all the members of The Terminal can share their publications, but... there is a condition, to share your post you must previously provide support to someone who has shared their post, this way we all help each other.
There are some similar channels, for example, #rally-promo-100 and #rally-promo-500 to be shared by those who are participating in the two categories of the rally and #post-promo-redfish which is used by all the little redfish.

There are several roles in the Discord and depending on which one we have we will share our content in one place or another, so be sure to share your post in the space that corresponds to your role.
Conclusion and suggestions
In the Discord of The Terminal we can find all kind of useful information that will allow us to grow in Hive, at the beginning this journey was a little complex, there were many spaces to visit, but the mission was achieved.
As a main suggestion I think it is important to check the rooms that are in disuse and if it is not necessary to use them, remove them or restrict their display for other users, for example, is the case of rooms #coff33a-contest and #themed-groups.
On the other hand, topics to be discussed in the #wallet-help channel could be dealt with in #answers-to-questions and thus remove that channel.
Regarding the channel #server-advertising I think it should be located in a higher place like BEGIN HERE or THE COMMONS and that links should be checked and those that are down should be removed.
