Hello Hive family,
Here we go again for the third period of the Redfish Rally hosted by .
For this part, we are asked to relate a film and a song that we like.
We all have a favorite song and movie.
That's why, I invite you to discover me a little more trough my little selection 😊
Life is beautiful / La vita è bella
I think most of us have seen this movie. I saw that movie with my family members when I was, I think about 12 years old.
Why I chose this movie?
First of all my favorite movie is the Lion King but even more because nowadays this movie came directly into my mind. It's in a way a film that defines me a bit and in which I find myself.
It's an Italian film from 1997 based on the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. The title looks positive but paradoxally it is a very hard story. It's a dramatic comedy written and directed by the Italian Roberto Benigni who also plays the lead role in the film. I liked him very much as an actor at the time.
Having recently seen what happened in Beirut and being very sensitive, I was shocked. So for those of you who don't know this movie, here's the story...
The story takes place in a small village in Arezzo, Italy during the World War II. It is the story of Guido Orefice who is a young Italian Jew dreaming of opening a bookstore.
Always dreamy and positive, he was lucky enough to come across a beautiful young woman who became his wife, they had a son named Giosuè. Unfortunately for the small family who lived a peaceful life, Guido and his son were deported to a concentration camp. From then on, the mother who did not accept him sacrificed herself in order to be with her loved ones.
In the concentration camp Guido did everything possible to keep his son from realizing the horror by distracting him with games-challenges that would give them points for going home on a tank, which was his son's dream. With a beautiful ending moral, it is an dark, happy and a sad story.
With this wonderful film, Roberto Begnini received the Gold Palm and the Oscar for best film maker. As for the film that made it to the charts, it received the Oscar for best film in 1999.
My personal opinion
I love this movie. It is sublime, very touching and I love it very much. The first time I saw this film, I was still a child but I had cried a lot. It marked me, shocked me and made me see life differently. It also made me philosophize and see the world from another way and point of view.
Sometimes, I was not being able to talk about what I was going through my life, I was forced to pretend to be happy. Fortunately, I have kept a dreamy child's soul, which connects me a little to the film.
What was your first feeling after watching this movie?
Le bonheur from Lokua Kuanza
For me, happiness comes from a simple thing, like a gesture, a color and even a smile. Happiness amazes me, if only I could live in abundance of happiness and die with a smile....
Here is a song from an artist I love from my home country Lokua Kuanza born on April 21, 1958 in Bukavu in DRC Congo. Singer, musician, composer and producer, he is full of talent and has a golden voice. He is a very great artist recognized internationally.
He is very kind and he have an Instagram page who I am following and of course an Youtube channel.
The title of the chosen song is le bonheur, (happiness), it is interpreted in French and Lingala, the DRC language.
Lyrics
Akende se boye
Azalaki na posa ya
Baninga, basekisa ye
Anana se boye
Azalaki na posa ya
Baninga basolola
Mawa eleki ye amibuaki
Likolo ya ndako ye ko ndeke te
Mawa elekaki ye apumbue oh
He left like that.
He needed friends
To make him laugh
It sank like this
He needed friends for small talk.
So sad, he threw himself
from the top of a house, he who is not a bird...
So sad, he flew away.
He was missing some friends
Sometimes happiness
All it takes is a sentence, a word
Yes, happiness
Just a smile, a look
It sank like this
He needed friends for small talk.
He left like that.
He needed to laugh with friends
So sad, he flew away.
From the top of a house, he who is not a bird...
Full of pain, he's gone.
Sadness in the soul, what are we going to say?
Sometimes happiness
All it takes is a sentence, a word
Yes, happiness
Just a smile, a look

As a Bonus , I take advantage of this post to share a song that is dear to my heart.
An old group of Americans UB40 - Kingston Town. It is my father who made me discover when we were little and that I like a lot.
My father, in spite of all the pain he made us suffering, learned me a lot of things even though the fact I didn't live with him for long times... Thank you!
