Maybe they have different common names in each country, but in Indonesia they are commonly known as walangsangit, belonging to the family Coreidae. When referring to the common name in English, coreidae is called the leaf-footed bug, or coreid bug.
Yesterday I took pictures of walangangit clustered on plant stems in the hilly area of Cot Girek Kandang, 5 KM from Lhokseumawe City.
Some of them looked like they were having a discussion, some looked like they were waiting in line for something. I assumed they were the males who were waiting in line to get a chance to mate with the female.
Besides that, I took photos of a female laying her eggs on the reeds, and of course, she has to protect her eggs from being targeted by predators that lurk at all times.
