Yes, they were mating, undisturbed in the slightest by the gust of wind. They are a pair of wasp moths (Amata huebneri) belonging to the family Erebidae.
Mating is done by not facing each other, while their tails are attached to each other. The female is slightly larger than the male, and the tail of the female is fatter than the male. The couple seemed to be aware when I took their picture, but it seemed like I was just a passing wind to them. Yes they continue to enjoy their mating regardless of me, even though my position is quite close to them.
