Almost a week without hunting insects, today the natural climate supports the exploration of the forest. It is not far and it doesn't take long to go through the woods as the place is around the house. As a hobby, collecting insects with a smartphone macro lens is certainly not difficult because it does not have complicated settings on the camera.
Today I tried to photograph this weaver ant again. We often call these ants Semut rangrang or Semut Api. I don't know the origin of the name. But this is the name of the insect. This ant is actually a species of ant from the order Hymenoptera and is very easy to find even though the insect is a bit wild. These ants are not insects in general, but these ants are social insects in their population.
Different types of ants have been widely recognized by science because some ants live among humans. Also profitable for farmers. Ants play a very important role so that if ants go extinct, hundreds or even thousands of plant and animal species will become extinct. Even if the ants disappear from the face of the earth, it will clearly have an impact on all ecosystems, will be weakened due to the reduced complexity of the ecosystem.
