Mother Theresa Comes Inside to Lay her Egg Sac

The Past 2 months

Mating of the Matises
In this post, back in Late April, Mother Theresa mated.
She also consumated the union by eating her partner.

Outside for some Sun
I would leave her outside to get some sun. Then one day she left altogether. Then I found her sunbaking on the Cauliflower plant.

Yesterday

Yesterday, I couldn't find her hanging around the Cauliflower plant.
That happens sometimes.
As the weather was starting to turn alot colder, rainy, and windy, I figured she'd found a nice hidey hole.

Then when I was going back inside, upon the doorway, there she was.

So, we put her back in her little plastic home to wait out the stormy weather.

Morning Hello

We always say, "Hello", to the Mantis in the morning.

To my surprise, what I thought was her abdomen up against the lid, was actually her egg sac.
It would have been great to see her making it, but alas, not this time.

Back to the Garden and we wait.

I dropped Mother Theresa back into the cauliflower plant.
The Egg Sack will stay stuck to the lid of the enclosure.
Now, we wait for Spring. We wait for the nymphs to hatch.
