Yesterday afternoon I found this moth sitting on a leaf of a tree. It is a dragonfly. It sat very nicely on two wings. Its wings are very clear and clean. It was almost evening. When I went outside I found it sitting among the leaves of one of our small trees. It sat very nicely in the same place without moving. At first I thought maybe it was dead or just sitting there. So I tried to catch it with my hand and immediately it flew away.
It is a slightly larger dragonfly. It is the largest of the dragonflies we see here. I often see these kinds of insects of all shapes and sizes here in our yard sitting on various things or floating around in our yard. It's quite nice to see them when they move their head or eyes around 360 degrees in a very beautiful way. But when I was photographing it yesterday, it was not moving and was sitting quietly.
However, this type of insect can be seen throughout the year, but is most common during the rainy season. Especially around our roads where there is monsoon water, these kinds of insects are most seen. Sometimes when we go out on our rural roads, we can see different types of such insects flying around or sitting on some poles.
