Hello All Insect Lovers And My Hivean Friends!
This is a Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa. It's a species of mole cricket. It is a very familiar insect of our region. It is called by different names in our region and such insects are known as Kumira insects. These insects are somewhat long-lived and very beautiful to look at. Especially during hot season i.e. summer or rainy season, this type of insect is most seen around the house. Sometimes this type of insect can be seen throughout the year.
Last night I was rummaging around in the yard and doing some work on the mobile. So at that time of the night while walking in the yard was fully focused on the mobile and suddenly felt a touch in the leg. I got a little scared because I wondered if it was a snake. I immediately turned on the flash of the mobile and saw that it was an insect and it was sitting quietly at my feet in the ground. It was not moving and was sitting still. That time I wish I shared with you now.
These kinds of insects are sometimes seen inside the room and they jump or fly a lot. I found it sitting on the ground. They look pretty good. But I have no idea about their residence. But earlier people in the village believed that if they bite someone, they are very poisonous and there is a danger of death, although I don't know if this is true or false. Anyway it looks very beautiful and its body structure is quite interesting and attractive.
