Hi beloved friends in the community of interesting insect lovers, it's nice to still be able to share the beauty of the natural owners of the macro predator predator zone, special spiders with long legs and it looks like there is still morning dew in this cobweb's house.
Piratula is a genus of wolf spiders that was first restricted in the 1960s. Its 26 species are found mainly in Asia, with a few found in Europe and North America
subsoil species in open swamp and marsh habitats, and occasionally in moist grassy habitats. It is less related to the Sphagnum swamp than other Pirata species, although it does occur with Sphagnum. It is often found at the edge of open water, which it will traverse. Both sexes are found mainly from early to mid summer, females laying eggs until August and beyond.
This species is widespread throughout much of the south of England, but is highly distributed in northern England as far as southwest Scotland. It is widespread in western and central Europe as far north as Denmark.
