Queensland Fruit Fly
When I first saw this insect on the tile of our rooftop I thought it's a Giant Hornet because of its appearance. After I captured this insect I immediately searched on the internet to find out what kind of insect is that because that is the first that I saw this insect. After I searched on the internet I found the answer and this insect is a Queensland Fruit Fly or Fruit Fly.
As you can see in the photograph below the appearance of this fruit fly are almost similar to the bee their wings are cleared, there is color black with a distinct yellow same as to the bee. The size of the fruit fly adult can grow up to 7mm long and their lifespans same as the fly starts to egg, larva, and pupa.
The fruit fly is just like the housefly they also scavenge as a group because I saw a group of the fruit fly that scavenged our garbage can. I thought they only eating the fruits and vegetables, but they also scavenge garbage like the housefly. The difference between fruit fly to the housefly is they are not so fast to fly even you are near to them they won't fly quickly unlike the housefly if you approach them they fly quickly.
