As far as I know
There's 2 different types of milkweed beetles; This 1 which is sometimes called the Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle and a Red Milkweed Beetle. There's also 2 different types of Milkweed Bugs; Big and Small. I'll have to check but I think I might have photos of them all.
Once a Swamp Milkweed Beetle reach adulthood, they can fly. Similar to the Monarch butterfly, the Swamp Milkweed Beetle protects itself by consuming milkweed sap–which is toxic to most predators. For the most part, these beetles aren't dangerous. They don't bite or sting, nor do they cause any real damage to the plant.
